Child's Eyes

The child's eyes are unforgiving,
See what no ther eyes can see.
See the world through a different air.
See how the grown-ups ignore each other
And how they are tired all the time.
See child's father going out with strange woman,
Mother's waiting at home.
See how he hurt her, how she acts
Like she doesn't care.
Thinks that forgiveness is endless
Like it should be.
Sees the mistakes magnified
And the blessings quadrupled
And the deeds; infinity
And realises that
The world is a cruel place.

This poem touched me deeply. It pretty much described life in my loveless 12 year marriage. Kids really do see it all and it is amazing how we pretend not to care or see things that are going on initially. Divorced now, thankfully, but my kids still struggle with it all.
